First Sergeant Gavidia is from Compton, California. She enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in January 2008 and graduated
recruit training from Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina in June 2008. She then reported to the School of Infantry,
Camp Geiger, North Carolina, for Marine Combat Training, and subsequently attended Personnel Administration School at Camp
Johnson, North Carolina.
Upon completion of training, she reported to Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, where she served
as a Pay Noncommissioned Officer at the Installation Personnel Administration Center. She was meritoriously promoted to Corporal in
2009.
In February 2010, she received orders to Marine Aircraft Group 49, Naval Air Station Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, serving with
HMH-772. She later supported operations at Fort Dix, New Jersey, in support of reserve annual training. She was promoted to Sergeant
in 2012 and served as the Noncommissioned Officer in Charge of the Reserve and TAD sections.
In May 2012, she received orders to Combat Logistics Company 36, Iwakuni, Japan, where she served as the S-1 Administration Chief.
During this period, she participated in exercises Spartan Fury and Cobra Gold.
In 2013, she received orders to Training and Education Command, Quantico, Virginia, where she served on the Staff Secretariat and as
the driver for the Commanding General and Sergeant Major of TECOM. In 2014, she volunteered for the integration of females into
combat military occupational specialties and reported to Infantry Training Battalion, where she earned the secondary MOS of 0311. She
subsequently served with the Ground Combat Element in North Carolina in support of integration efforts.
From 2015 to 2017, she served with Marine Forces Special Operations Command, where she was promoted to Staff Sergeant and later
selected as the Administration Chief for 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines. During this tour, she deployed with the 11th Marine Expeditionary
Unit as part of the Ground Combat Element.
In July 2020, she graduated Drill Instructor School. In June 2022, she reported to Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, where she served
as the Separations Chief. She was subsequently selected as the Operations and Protocol Chief for the Sergeant Major of the Marine
Corps, where she supported the transition between the 19th and 20th Sergeants Major of the Marine Corps.
In September 2023, she reported to the Joint Staff, serving as a Strategic Planner for the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman.
In November 2024, she was selected for promotion to First Sergeant and received orders to The Basic School. In May 2025, she
assumed her current duties as the Company First Sergeant, Warfighting Instructor Company.
Her personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold
star in lieu of fifth award, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of fifth award.
